At Onboard Maritime, we focus on creating practical, effective digital learning solutions for the maritime industry. Our recent project with INEOS shows how tailored e-learning modules and a digital platform can improve training and support workforce development.
The Challenge: Meeting Training Needs
INEOS needed a set of e-learning modules designed to meet specific training goals. They also wanted a new digital learning platform to manage training records and host these modules.
The challenge was to create content that not only met learning objectives but also engaged different types of learners. At the same time, we needed to ensure the platform aligned with maritime competency standards.
Our Approach: Custom E-Learning and a New Platform
To meet INEOS's requirements, we developed custom e-learning modules focused on their specific training outcomes. We considered different learning styles to make sure the modules were accessible and effective for everyone.
We also built a branded digital learning platform for INEOS. This platform was designed to host the new modules and manage training records in one place. We made sure it was easy to use and followed INEOS's brand guidelines.
Designing for the Team
We worked closely with INEOS to ensure the design of the learning platform and modules reflected their brand and business needs. By understanding their team and culture, we were able to create a platform that felt familiar and user-friendly.
This focus on people and culture helped make the training more relevant and engaging for the learners.
Developing the Content
Using materials provided by INEOS, we created interactive e-learning modules to meet their training objectives. We combined theoretical knowledge with digital tools like 3D environments, videos, and interactive activities.
This approach made the training more engaging and helped different types of learners understand and retain the material.
Working Together
We believe in working closely with our clients, and our partnership with INEOS was no different. INEOS was involved at every stage of the project, from design to delivery. Their feedback helped shape the final product, ensuring it met their needs.
This collaborative approach meant the training reflected both our expertise in digital learning and INEOS's specific goals.
The Results
INEOS now has a custom digital learning platform and a set of e-learning modules that meet their training goals. The platform makes it easy to manage training records and provides an engaging learning experience for their teams.
This project shows how targeted content development, attention to people and culture, and alignment with maritime competency frameworks can improve maritime training. We look forward to working on more digital learning projects with INEOS in the future.
